How to Transfer Your iCloud Photos to Google Photos

There are various cloud storage services available as on date, and Apple and Google offer two of the most popular options. Switching may not be a daunting task, but Apple makes it easy to move your iCloud library to Google Photos.

 

Apple Transfer Service can bring a copy of your iCloud photos and videos to your Google Photos account. There are few things that cannot be passed on, however. Which Includes shared albums, smart albums, streaming content, live photos, and specific metadata.

 

The setup process is simple, but a real transfer can take a whole week if you have a very large library. Let's get started.

 

First, refer to privacy.apple.com in a web browser like Safari or Google Chrome.

Sign in with your Apple ID.

Choose "Continue" to accept Apple's privacy statement.

After that, choose the "Request for transfer copy of your data" link.

You will see details on how much your library can be transferred. Under that, choose the drop-down menu and select "Google Photos" as your destination.

You can now choose which content you would like to transfer and say "Continue." Your options include photos and videos.

The following screen will explain that if your Google Account does not have enough space, not everything will be copied. Choose "Continue" to continue.

A new window will open for you to sign in or choose your Google Account.

Choose "Allow" from the pop-up message to give Apple permission to add photos and videos to your Google Photos library.

Choose “Allow” again on the next screen to confirm your choice.

Finally, Apple explains that the process will take between three to seven days. When the transfer is complete, you will be notified via your Apple ID email. Click “Confirm Transfer” to complete.

That’s all on this. Check the email when the transfer is complete. Photos and videos of iCloud will start appearing on your Google Photos.
