How to change group name in Whatsapp

Step No. 1: Open your Whatsapp App.

Begin by launching the WhatsApp application on your smartphone. 

Step No. 2: Go to the Group Chat.

Once you're on the main screen, locate and select the group for which you want to change the name. If the group isn't visible on the main screen, you can use the search function to find it quickly.

Step No. 3: Now tap on the Group name of the Group Chat.

Now tap on the Group name of the group chat, which can be seen at the top of the group chat.

Step No. 4: Tap on the three dotted lines, which can be seen at the right hand corner.

Once you're inside the desired group chat, look for the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the screen. Tap on these dots to reveal a dropdown menu.

Step No. 5: Now tap on the change group name.

From the menu, select "change group name" or a similar option, depending on your device.

Step No. 6: Enter the new name

A text field will appear, allowing you to input the new name for the group. Be creative, yet clear, when choosing a new name.

Step 7: Save Changes:

After typing in the new group name, locate the "Tick" (Save) button or any similar option on your device.

Note: You will only be able to change the name of the group on whatsapp, if the group setting of the whatsapp is kept as all participant, or admin if you are admin of the group.
