How to check whether my name is there in Voters list or not online.
Whether you want to know or whether you want to check that you can vote at the time of election or not. The first thing you should know or the first thing you should check, that, whether your name is registered in Voter’s List or not.
If your name is registered in the Voter’s list, then you can vote.
If your name is not registered in the Voter’s list, then you cannot vote.
NVSP, that is, National Voters Service Portal is a portal from where you can check, whether your name is there in the Voter’s list or not.
Below is the step by step guide to check your name in the Voter’s List
First, you need to go to your web browser, type “NVSP Electoral Search” then Click on the “NVSP Service Portal” as shown in the below image
After clicking on NVSP service portal, you will be taken to the page, click on “Search your name in Electoral Roll” as shown the below image.
Now you will have 2 (Two) Options
1. Search by details.
2. Search by Epic Number
1. Search by Details.
You need to fill the details such as
Name
Father’s name
Age
State
District
Code
After filling all the details click on the “search button”. You will get a result.
If your name is shown in the result, then your name is there in the Voter’s List.
If your name is not shown in the result, then your name is not there in the Voter’s List.
Note: sometimes you might not get the results even if you have filled each and every detail correctly, this might happen sometimes because the details might not match with the electoral database.
2. Search by Epic Number
The full form of EPIC No. is “Electoral Photo ID Card Number”
You need to fill the details such as
EPIC No.
State
Code
After filling all the details click on the “search button”. You will get a result.
After opting both the option, If your name is still not shown in the result, that means your name is not there in the Voter’s list, because of this you might not be able to Vote, the reason might be that you would be a new voter, if you are a new voter, for that you need to first include your name in the Electoral Roll, to get in the voters list.
How to apply for inclusion of name in Electoral Roll for the First- time voter.
After filing Form 6, you will get the reference ID number.
After a few days, you will get a message through the mail that you need to submit the required documents personally, mostly it is the document which is uploaded at the time of filing the form.
After submitting the documents, you will be allotted EPIC number, how many days it will take to receive EPIC number, will fully depend on the whole process.
The above process is the online process, you can also apply through offline at your nearest electoral office.
